Packaging refresh
A New Look for a New Era: The Pure Scot Packaging Refresh
In 2022, Pure Scot—a bold, contemporary whisky brand born in Scotland and distilled at the historic Bladnoch Distillery—underwent a thoughtful packaging refresh designed to elevate perception, streamline production, and unlock future flexibility.
The original packaging featured screen-printed bottles with heavy visual detailing. While visually striking, this method came with challenges. The screen printing process was rigid and costly to maintain, offering limited flexibility for product extensions or seasonal editions. Inconsistencies across batches were also common, affecting the brand’s premium positioning.
The goal of the refresh was clear: enhance the brand's premium feel, ensure consistency, and allow for more agile innovation in the future. Enter paper labels—crafted with textured, high-quality stock that not only introduced elegance and depth but also offered a tactile experience aligned with the sophistication of the whisky itself. This shift also gave the brand freedom to develop limited editions, change formats, or adapt designs more easily while staying true to its identity.
The result? A cleaner, more refined look that feels modern yet rooted in heritage—perfectly in tune with Pure Scot’s ethos: whisky for the new generation of drinkers.
This packaging evolution wasn’t just cosmetic. It was a strategic move to strengthen the brand's shelf presence and improve operational efficiencies—setting the stage for continued growth, one beautifully labeled bottle at a time.
